While we were recording this song, we were invited to play a show that focused on bands playing their favorite murder ballads. Since we didn't have an original, we decided to make this one our first attempt at the genre. The exact situation of the story could go a couple of different ways, but the thought of sitting in a cabin in the pitch-black woods waiting for someone to come after you is what motivated the story.

Shoegaze ist die Kunst des Dröhnens, doch „Everything Is Alive“ setzt diese Elemente nur sparsam ein. Statt Hall- und Zerr-Sounds aufzutürmen, schäumt die Musik in feinen Bläschen über.

Love the selection! Field Mouse made Frat-Bro stinkers DMB's "Crash" and Turd Eye Blind's "Losing a Whole Year" actually enjoyable listens to these ears. Album highlight is their cover of My Bloody Valentine's "When You Sleep." I don't think I have heard a cover of that song I haven't loved, Shoegazed or de-Shoegazed. Mike Delejewski
